It all began in 2017 when our owner, Wendi Kribs decided to re-enter the workforce after 17 years as a stay-at-home Mom and homeschooler. As a teacher for many years, Wendi knew that she wanted to be a part of the community by supporting kids and parents alike in triumphs and milestones (as teachers do) and so the idea of a local Ice Cream shop was devised. Playing on the name of the local High School’s “Wolf Pack”, the name “Dairy Den of Laingsburg” was born. It has been a journey with lots of twists and turns, sprinkles, and broken waffle cones, but one thing remains the same… ice cream and community are our passion.
We currently have 24 hand-dipped flavors of Michigan-made Ice Cream, as well as premium, soft serve in traditional favorites vanilla, chocolate, and twist. Our menu also includes crave-able flurries, malts, floats, and shakes as well as specialty sundaes that are the creation of our amazing employees. We are also known for our famous Crepe’s, creamy macaroni and cheese, and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Our Ice Cream sandwiches and cookies are made from scratch with love, and it shows!
Over the years, the Dairy Den has become more than just a local Ice Cream shop with fabulous food; It has become a hub for the community, in good times and bad. From distributing clothes to families in need after a house fire or collected toys for the local church at Christmas time, we are all about building and encouraging the community to help one another.
We believe in supporting our employees as well, and take great pride in hiring those with disabilities. We are partnered with the Shiawassee RESD and hire students from their program, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to work, grow and be active members of their community.
